Jones in the wickets as Third XI win
Connah's Quay beaten at Pen-y-Gelli
Bryn Jones took 3-26 as Carmel's Third XI recorded their first win of the NWCL season following a six-wicket victory over Connah's Quay.
Skipper Alun Davies lost the toss and the visitors elected to bat first but Carmel's bowlers responded with their most determined display of the season.
Opening bowlers Richard Collett (2-23) and Luke Bodman (1-17) did the early damage.
But it was Jones who particularly impressed with three wickets in a nine-over spell as Connah's Quay were bowled out in the final over of their innings for 118.
Will Wallis (3-8) caught the eye with his pace, and also pocketed three catches, before Dylan Jones (1-12) finished the job.
Carmel lost captain Davies (0) along with namesake Emyr (8) cheaply after the tea break.
But Luke Bodman (12) steadied the ship along with wicketkeeper Dafydd Bailey.
Rohit Kaimal (17) also chipped in with a valuable contribution before Bailey (44*) and Matt Bodman (1*) finished the job without further loss with six overs to spare.
