Scooter on fire as Mochdre routed
Reigning champions demolished by veteran paceman.
Steve 'Scooter' Jones rolled back the years as he claimed 4-15 to help Carmel's Second XI beat Mochdre and claim their first win of the 2017 NWCL season.
Skipper Christopher Jones won the toss and elected to bat at Pen-y-Gelli and openers Dafydd Bailey (38) and Jonathan Fisher (13) gave the hosts a solid start.
However, the rest of Carmel's batting line-up failed to fire with only Rhys Griffith (14) able to make double figures as they were dismissed for 112 in 39 overs.
Flame-haired opening bowler Jones then produced a hostile spell after the tea interval to decimate Mochdre's batting line-up.
The veteran paceman removed four top order wickets - three for ducks - as he finished with 4-15 from 10 overs.
Matt Isgar (2-12) and Nick Hughes (2-11) then pocketed a brace of wickets each, the former also claiming a run out, before Lee Rowles (1-0) finished the rout.
Mochdre, the reigning Second XI Premier Division champions, were skittled for just 39 to give Carmel a 73-run victory.
