Dafydd Bailey hit 49 as Carmel's Second XI beat Pontblyddyn to climb out of the NWCL Premier Division relegation zone.
Wicketkeeper Bailey's innings proved pivotal in Carmel's total of 142-9 on a slow pitch at Pen-y-Gelli.
He shared a stand of 43 with fellow opener Luke Bodman (18) while Oliver Saynor (14), Derek Johnson (15) and Nick Hughes (10) all chipped in.
Johnson led the way with the ball after the tea interval as he bagged 4-16 off his 10 overs to decimate the top order.
Bailey's brilliance behind the stumps was again prominent as he claimed two lightning fast stumpings.
Lee Rowles (3-16) and Dafydd Timothy (2-17) then blew away the Pont lower order as they were dismissed for 90 in 33.2 overs.
