Gwion Dafydd made his maiden half-century for Carmel's First XI as they suffered a chastening loss to Bersham in NWCL Division One.
Skipper Barry Mcgauty won the toss and after he elected to bat saw his side post 232-8 from their allotted 50 overs.
Dafydd (61) caught the eye with an impressive knock as he made his top score for the First XI.
He shared partnerships with Oliver Saynor (33) and Christopher Jones (41) before Ryan Roberts (25*) boosted the total with some aggressive strokeplay at the end of the innings.
The total put Carmel in a strong position but their bowling attack was unable to make inroads into the Bersham top order.
Saynor (2-48) eventually removed both of Bersham's openers but by that stage the damage had been done.
Jack Whitehouse (1-28) snaffled another wicket, however the visitors coasted past the target in 37.1 overs to win by seven wickets.
