Hat-trick hero Jones also in the runs
All-rounder stars with bat and ball against students
Bryn Jones hit his maiden half-century and took a hat-trick as Carmel's Old Boys XI earned their first win of the season against St David's College.
In damp conditions Carmel batted first and following the early loss of openers Rhys Griffith and Father Roy Kottakupuram, Jones went on the counter attack.
The all-rounder rode his luck during a blistering assault on the visiting bowling attack to make his first ever fifty for the club.
He was supported by skipper Jon Fisher (29*) as the Old Boys XI posted 107-3 from their 20 overs.
Nick Hughes (1-10) and Connor Traynor (2-14) gave Carmel the early initiative after the turnaround.
The students rallied before Jones (3-4) turned in a starring role with the ball as he took wickets with three successive deliveries.
To complete a memorable man-of-the-match display Jones also showed sharp hands in the field to claim a run out.
St David's were restricted to 96-7 which secured an 11-run victory for Carmel.
