Carnforth secured their first league title for 20 years at the weekend with a hard fought win over a fine Vale 4th team. The first half saw the visitors establish a 16 point lead as they took total control of the game - they also had the chance to secure the league. But a revitalised Carnforth team took the second half by storm with a superb team performance as they ran in 50 unanswered points. Nick Hamer, Jason Short, Mathew Short and Joe Harrison with a try each whilst Jack Edmondson and Kieron Morgan grabbed two apiece, Mathew Short slotted 5 conversions.

Carnforth also secured the Andrew Crowe Memorial Shield for the first time in years - Crowey would have been proud of the performance today - the shield was presented by Mrs Sandra Crowe to skipper Dan Blenkharn.
After the game - Carnforth RUFC awarded club ties to Raging Bull committee members Mr Fred Swarbrick and Mr Reg Robinson in recognition of their hard work over the years.
