Saturday saw us travel down the rain swept M6 to face Clitheroe and Skipton in a pre season warm up, the weather was kinder to us at Littlemoor Road. We travelled with 18 players and with each team playing each other twice, the opportunity was there to give everyone decent game time.
All players staked their claims for the new season and with key players to return the squad will hopefully continue their success from the last two years. New players Nathan OConnor and Matt Gidley both performed well with full back OConnor impressing from full back.
For the record the results were:-
Carnforth 12 - 0 Clitheroe 2 tries, one conversion
Carnforth 17 - 0 Skipton 3 tries, one conversion
Clitheroe 5 - 0 Carnforth
Carnforth 17 - 0 Skipton 3 tries, one conversion

Thanks to Roger and Clitheroe for the invite, we wish both Skipton and Clitheroe (apart from November 26 and 01 April) well for the forthcoming season. We start on 3rd September at home to Trafford MV 2nds - training Tuesdays please.
