Double header at Kellet Road

This weekend sees two games at Kellet Road as Clitheroe are the visitors.
The first team game is a battle of 3rd placed Carnforth versus 2nd placed Clitheroe in a 3 North encounter - the teams are separated by a mere points difference of 9 - both teams have suffered just the one defeat all season - at the hands or Penrith who look odds on for the league title this early in the season.
This will be the first league game between the two clubs for a few years - but the history between the us and Clitheroe is second to none - the games over the years in the RFU leagues have been tough encounters but the mutual respect between the clubs is always on show in the clubhouse afterwards. We look forward to the game with Roger and his squad of players who will travel confident of claiming a victory.
Alistair Boyle from Madrefs will be in charge of the game.

The main game of the day though is on the bottom pitch as we are putting out a 2nds/Social XV against Clitheroe 3rds - the aim of this game is to get lads playing again and for those who are not getting regular game time for the senior teams. Some lads are returning for Carnforth who have not played for a number of years whilst their will be a few club debuts.
Mark Manning will be in charge and we thank Mark for this.

June Barton will sponsor the games in memory of ex committee member and player Frank Barton.

We welcome all the Clitheroe players, officials and supporters back to the clubhouse afterwards as well as Alistair and Mark.
