The first game of a new season saw Carnforth face the daunting task of North Lancs One outfit and Lancashire Bowl holders Ashton under Lyne in this quarter final tie.
Ashton took the early lead before two superb tries from Jack Edmondson and Jason Short gave Carnforth hope but the second half saw the higher league side take the game away from the hard working hosts by 63 - 14.
