Today saw the squad of 18 players travel to Ormskirk - a tough week for skipper Shane Weed saw 11 changes to the squad from the previous week - players unavailable due to work/family/injuries saw 7 players making their first appearances of the season for the club. Ormskirk 2nds have been enjoying a decent season and they had some good numbers to select from - by their number 8s own admission they had selected 3 players from their first team (no game) to boost their squad - absolutely no problem with this - clubs have to do this to keep their other teams going during league seasons.
Carnforth did not seem at the races and despite a valiant late effort we fell short of the winning post by succumbing to a 24 - 19 defeat. Tries were scored by Mathew Short, Joe Harrison and Brad Wheatman - Short adding 2 conversions.
Good luck to Chris and the Ormskirk lads - a great bunch of lads - for the rest of the season - keep this squad from today and they will be challenging at the promotion stakes towards the end of the season and we look forward to the return game in April.
