Saturday saw a welcome break from the league as we entertained a touring party of 40 lads from Kettering RUFC - ably led by our ex chairman Phil Aldridge. A free flowing game of rugby was enjoyed by all players from both sides which was well refereed by Stuart Whitham. The victory was claimed by Carnforth on the field by 51 - 24 but the craic during and after the game was excellent. The Kettering lads hopefully enjoyed our hospitality at the clubhouse afterwards - the after match entertainment was superb.
We thank Phil and the Kettering tourists for the game and the time in the clubhouse - have a safe journey back and all the best for the future.
Thanks to Gemma and Woody at the clubhouse for their hard work and to Mandy for the catering.
For the record - Chris Russell on debut grabbed a hat trick, skipper Sam Tomlinson scored twice, Dan Blenkharn, Sam Edmondson (2) and another debutant Jamie Hardy grabbing a try.
