Carnforths first league of the season saw them go close to victory over a strong Chorley outfit. At one stage they were losing 15 - 3 but some excellent play saw them take a 24 - 15 lead with 10 minutes to go, however two late tries saw the visitors steal the points 27 - 24. The 2nds also came close to a victory as they fell to last seasons league winners Thornton Cleveleys by 26 - 21 in an entertaining game. Mathew Short and Stuart Whitham were the two man of the matches. Full reports to follow.
