17s GET SEND OFF FROM OLD FRIENDS

Carniny Amateur & Youth FC under 17s received some welcome visitors to their Foyle Cup send off

Carniny Amateur & Youth FC under 17s received some welcome visitors to their Foyle Cup send off at the Adair Arms Hotel on Sunday when they were joined by former team mates who will represent their respective counties in this seasons Milk Cup competition.

Current Ballymena United starlet Matthew Shevlin was this time last year playing with the team at the Foyle Cup having been at Carniny since he was ten years of age. He will represent County Antrim in this year’s competition along with his Ballymena United team mate Eamon Fyfe who also was with Carniny for several years.
County Londonderry have also included a former Carniny player in their ranks when Adam Rowe makes his Milk Cup debut. Adam also played for the Ballymena reds for some six years before joining Moyola Park.

The Carniny 17s will head off to the North West on Monday morning were they will take on Culmore FC that evening at 5pm. The 18 man squad have a strong panel to pick from with several players making names for themselves in youth football.
Being resident in the North West during the week of the tournament can only be beneficial to the team who fly the flag for Ballymena at this age group and are accompanied by the Carniny under 11s, 12s and 13s is this years competition.
Carniny under 17s wish to thank all who have supported the team financially or by in kind help.
