With the season only a couple of weeks away Carniny teams were playing in a few friendlies and tournaments to get themselves match ready.

The Seniors however have started their season and notched up a 6-1 midweek win over Holywell. The Under 15s started their season off on the right foot winning their age group at the Loughside Invitational Tournament in Belfast.

The U18s, 14s and 12s played friendlies against, Greenisland and Ballymoney Utd YA, whilst the Under 9s, 10s and 11s all enjoyed a great days football at the inaugural Wesley Gregg Invitational Tournament hosted by BUFC YA at the showgrounds.

1998/99 Player Opportunities

Carniny Amateur & Youth FC under 18s are back at training after recently returning from the Foyle Cup and took on their old friends at Greenisland FC at the East Antrim venue going down seven goals to four. The Ballymena 'reds' have a strong squad recruiting several new faces in the summer for a team that will supplement the clubs senior side. Already several players from this side have featured in the senior side and will have no problem making the step up permanently when required to do so.

Carniny Amateur & Youth FC are looking for a suitable candidate for Manager of their Under 19 squad to add to the existing staff already with the team. They also welcome enquiries for suitable players born in 1998 or 1999 (2000 players also considered) eligible to play for this newly formed team who will participate in the South Belfast Youth League playing their games on Friday nights or Saturday mornings. New Senior Team Manager

The club are happy to announce John McAllister as the new manager of the Senior team. Mark Dempster has also joined the staff and the pair will work with existing coaches Stephen Armstrong and Lee Barry. The team has got their season off to a good start in BSML Div 2 with a pleasing win. There have already been new additions to the squad and anyone interested should contact John 07761854174.

BOTTOM RUNG LOOKING GOOD

Teams from the clubs 2007, 2008 and 2009 sides are up and running in preparation for the forthcoming IFA Small Sided Games and Coleraine & District Youth League events which kick off shortly. Already several young players have been identified who will benefit from coaching they will receive from Carniny;s experienced coaches.

Girls Coaching

Girls coaching continues on Monday nights at Carnhill Playing field 6.30-7.30pm.Girls of all age are catered for. The girls will be planning to enter their first ever tournament on Sunday 28th August at the Harry Gregg girls tournament in Coleraine. Anyone interested should contact Gail Kernohan 07754155758.

Coaching and Player Opportunities

As always Carniny Amateur and Youth FC are currently on the look out for enthusiastic aspiring coaches to join their progressive local football club. The club are particularly interested in recruiting coaches for their Football Development Centre currently catering for children born in 2012, 2011, 2010. Coaches will have the opportunity to achieve Coerver Coaching Diploma award and will also be progressed by the club through the Irish FA Coaching ladder.

Coaches will be fully funded on their coaching courses with all club coaches progressed on the IFA Coaching ladder and also funding available for Coerver Coaching Diplomas. Coach mentoring and full support will be given to all coaches under the eye of an ‘A’ Licensed coach throughout their time at the club.
