ALL THE RESULTS, TABLES AND STATS UPDATED

Last weekend saw a pleasing set of results for Carniny Youth. The Under 15s good cup run in the NIBFA Cup continued last Saturday with Davy Leetch’s boys claiming a spot in the semi finals after a 2-1 win over St Mary’s. The boys were made to work hard to progress but another Shea O’Brien penalty save and a winning goal from Eoghan Daly saw the boys through.
The Under 13s earned themselves a valuable three points in the premier section of the U13 National League with a 3-0 win Magherafelt Sky Blues. The U12s won their game with East Antrim side Barn Utd with a 2-1 scoreline. The Under14s were unlucky to come away with only a point in their National League tie with Ballinamallard, the Fermanagh boys scoring a late goal to share the spoils in a 2-2 draw.
Up in the North West Youth League the U10 Amateurs saw off Dungiven Celtic whilst their Youth counterparts drew 1-1 with Portrush. The Under 11 Amateurs lost out by a single goal to Ballycastle Utd with their Youth team having no fixture in the Lisburn League this week.
The U17s were up against it right from keep with no regular keeper available losing out to Dungannon Swifts on the road on Friday night.

Night at The Races

The club will be holding a fundraising event, a ‘Night at the Races’ on Saturday 21st March at Michelin Athletic Club, Woodside Road, Ballymena. Horses are available for purchase from all team staff members. The night is open to all, parents, coaches, friends and supporters. There will be an adults disco after the Races.

N Ireland U17 Internationals

Former Player Matthew Shevlin kept in touch with his former club last week, updating club officials on his selection to the N Ireland U17 squad for the small UEFA tournament currently in progress. Matthew made a substitute appearance in their first match with Belgium, that unfortunately they lost 0-4. In the next game against Holland, Matthew was in the starting line up and played 70 mins of the 80 min game. The N Ireland boys put in a good performance to draw with the Netherlands 1-1. Matthew will be hoping for another start in their last group game against Georgia.

The club were also pleased to see another former player make the Ballymena United first team squad last Saturday. Jason Johnston was an unused substitute in their game with Crusaders at the weekend.
