The Under 14s were the club toast of the week, completing a 'derby double' over neighbours Ballymena Utd YA with a 2-1 win mid week, with Callum Scullion and Cathair Henderson netting for the 'all blacks'.

The Under 16s had a busy week last week when they drew with Loughgall Youth on Monday evening, but came away with a win against Ballymoney Utd YA on Saturday to put themselves into the National League Plate semi finals. Other teams results also meant they finished 4th in their league for the season, finishing the highest from local teams in the area.
The Under 10 Amateurs progressed in their NWCDYL cup with a win over Portrush, with their Youth counterparts suffering a defeat against Coleraine Academy. The U11s lost out in a seven goal thriller with Limavady up in the North West as well. The Under 13s had a pleasing win over Larne Youth in their league run in, with a last gasp winner from Sammy Clyde. The U12s were not so lucky when they lost out to Ridgeway, on the wrong end of a last minute winner. The U15s also lost out on their travels to Norht West side, Ballymoor.

The Football Development Centre, after a one week break continues next Saturday on the Mini Soccer pitches at the Showgrounds. Those interested in the Centre (years of birth 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009) should contact Davy Boyd on 07803974402 for further information.

Club Coaches Re-validate

Three of the club's 'B' licence coaches attended a CPD course in order to provide the necessary revalidation for their licences last Sunday. Davy Hanna, Jason Hunter and Stephen Armstrong all attended an IFA Continuous Professional Development course- at the invitation of Seaview Enterprises. The course was hosted by Philip Mitchell and headed up by IFA Coach Education Manager , Nigel Best with theoretical and practical workshops with invaluable information relayed to all the attending coaches.
Topics Covered within the course included, four cornered approach
periodization, case study, game trends / systems of play, game rehearsal - coaching for understanding, more than a coach processes - outcomes - goal setting.

Latest Tea Time League Draws to a Close

'Teatime' came to a close on Friday night with teams from local soccer schools such as Ballymena Youth Academy, Chimney Corner and host Club, Carniny Youth, finishing off the fifth session of small sided games as a prequel to the Ballymena Invitational Mini Soccer League which will commence on the 10/5/14. Carniny wish to thank all their 'sister' clubs who helped make the event such a success and look forward to meeting again in Springtime. The club also wish to thank the Showgrounds staff for their assistance and the IFA for their support.
