The Dev team notched up their first league win helped with a hat trick from Simon Murray and goals from Nathan McKee and Joe Lyness

The inclusion of three veteran players into the clubs young development team certainly made the difference as the side won their first game of the season with a 5-1 win over Greenisland at the east Antrim venue.

Carniny took the lead after 15 minutes when Dubyna put McKee through and he slotted past the advancing keeper. On the half hour Carniny made it two nil when McKee found Murray who scored with a tap in.

The second period saw Greenisland come out more determined but good saves by White in goal for Carniny and a sturdy defensive partnership from Butler and Shields kept the home side at bay.

On 55 minutes Carniny scored against the run of play when McKee broke down the right and found Murray who scored a third for Carniny. Almost immediately Greenisland pulled a goal back following handball in the penalty area and again White pulled off several good stops to keep the score at 3-1 for the visitors.

On the hour it was 4-1 for Carniny when Joe Lyness picked up a return pass from McKee to slot the ball home then 10 minutes remaining Carniny made it 5-1 from the penalty spot when Murray scored to complete his hat trick and earn a well deserved victory for this mainly young side.
