Immaculata took the lead after the 3 mins when an accidental flick on from Carniny defender left Elliott exposed and the Immaculata striker squared the ball for his team mate to tap in. Immaculata conceded a free kick but their keeper saved Isaac Wylie’s free kick. A Carniny corner was only partially cleared. Millar retrieved the ball and laid it back to Scullion. His deep cross was picked up by White who equalised from a tight angle. A soft free kick was saved but Immaculata striker was quicker to the rebound to restore their lead. A long ball over the top wasn’t dealt with and the score was soon 3-1. White won the ball in midfield and spread it to I Wylie. He skipped past his man and his cross was scuffed by Greer but Turner tapped in for 3-2.
A poorly defended Immaculata corner allowed the striker to score for 4-2. With the game getting more physical, Immaculata scored for 5-2. Not giving up, Greer dribbled into the box only to be fouled for a penalty. He duly stepped up to score for a lifeline at 5-3. The Carniny defence switched off again for Immaculata to score again at 6-3. A disappointing end to the cup run but the boys will lift themselves for next time.
