Carniny controlled the first half and deservedly took the lead when Douglas cleared forward to Greer who raced clear and coolly slotted home his rebound for 1-0. It took them a while to increase their advantage but a great corner from Murray to the back post saw T Wylie stoop to score to finish the 1st half 2-0.
The second half began with Celtic Boys pushing players forward and hesitancy in defence allowed them to pull one back. Carniny soaked up a lot of pressure but Celtic eventually forced an equaliser. Towards the end of the half another Murray corner was volleyed home by Greer. Incredibly the referee ruled the goal had went into the side netting. This visibly upset the boys allowed Celtic to push forward and score a winner. A good first half the boys will have learned a hard lesson in playing to the whistle and must learn to kill games off when on top.
