Carniny made Maiden city work hard for their win which saw the North West boys progress in the NIBFA Cup.

Carniny met unbeaten National League side Maiden City but it was Carniny who started brightly and went close on the second minute with Byrne. Carniny went up one nil in front when Ryan Clarke scored after four minutes. It was a tight affair and Maiden City equalised on the 16th minute. Carniny went close in the 18th minute when a Ben Dallas shot went wide. Carniny were battling hard in every department against a team unbeaten in 13 games but Maiden City made it 2-1 when Carniny failed to clear their lines. Carniny battled hard for an equalizer and Byrne nearly equalised but some how it went wide. Maiden city then went on to make it 3-1 just before half time.

The second half saw Carniny come out all guns blazing and kept Maiden pinned in their own half forcing several corners but somehow the Maiden city defence held on with the game finishing 3-1 but Maiden City wont be in a more competitive game this season Carniny 1 Maiden City 3
