Portavogie started brighter and a ball from their right caught Carniny sleeping and the right winger nipped into score. The game continued evenly and Carniny started to pressurise with good work from Tom Wylie and Joel Aitcheson in midfield. A quick throw from Isaac Wylie to Anthony Greer led to Aitchenson having a clear run and his strike from 25yards flew in.
The second half ebbed and flowed but Portavogie retook the lead when their throw into the box was sliced into his own net by the Carniny midfielder. Luke Elliott in goal was forced off with a hamstring strain. Skilful play down the right by Luis White allowed him to cross and Greer headed home to equalise with a minute remaining. Straight from the kick off, Portavogie punted the ball forward and the striker nipped in for the winner just as the ref blew his whistle for full time.
A lesson to the boys they need to create more opportunities to have a chance of winning the match.
