Colts late collapse
Poor display all round and nil points!
Colts gave a dreadful performance and got what they deserved, after a very poor game by both teams for an hour
was livened up when Spartans got their opening goal, then completely took over the game which ended 4-0.
We failed to create many chances, and constantly gave the ball away.
The home team were alos struggling to get the game going in a very dour first half, and basically it was down to one chance
for each team as Dan Woosey volleyed over from aition, and an Isa striker getting the ball stuck between his feet when
clear and six yards out.
Colts had their best effort on 58 minutes as Josh Coleclough's superb 30 yard effort was magnificently tipped over the
bar by the debutant home keeper. But it was all downhill after that for Colts, as a few minutes later the deadlock was
broken when the Isa winger retreived a long overhit cross from the byline, sent in a low cross which was cleverly turned
home on the near post by Aide Davies.
Spartans now had a surge of confidence from the goal and started to look dangerous with every attack, and Colts were
now falling apart as the back four had little protection in front of them. They added a second as Aide Davies struck from
close range, then 2 more as Davies completed his hat trick.
To add to our woes, Team Captain Tom Adams was shown 2 yellow cards for arguing with Ref Mark Stokes at the end of the
game. A major improvement is required!

✴M.o.m - Aide Davies
After the weekend disappointment the Spartans invited Castell A.C. to the Argoed Battleground this evening. Nathan Bradbrook came in for his first game in goal and a late change saw Reserve top scorer Joe Robins on the bench.
The first half was a quiet affair with both sides not finding a finishing touch. Nath Jones just hitting wide and the same for Castell at the other end. Sam Riley had a big chance but squandered it. Spartans looked the busier side but the evening had an eiry feel of a goalless draw.
Into half time the Spartans were sat down and James Hollyoak sent out the orders.
It wasn't long before the instructions were met. Tackles Went in harder and the whole side started pushing together however Castell had a long drive which flew at the top corner but a grade A save from keeper Bradbrook on his debut, tipped the ball over the bar. The teams reaction saw the scales tipped and the Spartans roared into action.
A stunning through ball from Nath Jones left Aide Davies chasing and bang 1-0. Open the gates the Spartans were now cruising in Sixth gear full on turbo mode. Sam Riley was putting in challenge after challenge like a man possessed. The back line gave nothing away and the team looked destined for more.
Ross Walker battled through the middle of the park with Sam and Nath which earnt him a long pass he hit into the area met by Aide who controlled superbly and smashed in his 2nd.
Then the bench got their chance Sam Genders and the 2 Joes ( Mitchell & Robins ) came roaring on.
Sam Genders was busy down the flank so busy he even caught an over head kick across the box and Harvey Hammersley flies in to score but sadly OFFSIDE called. Still 2-0
From here Castell looked dumbfounded Joe Mitchell using his pace down the side with Dane Shorrock and Sam Riley helping him along got Joe in position to cross in superbly and who else to meet it but Aide Davies who hit home and celebrated his hat trick. Fantastic, accept your match ball. What a performance.
But it didn't end there a bloody and beaten Castell had Joe Mitchell again bursting towards them and the play opened up for new boy Joe Robins to slot home and box off a superb victory.
That was an immense 45 minutes of football.
Nobody builds a Castle on our Battleground.
3 points and a clean sheet. The Spartans charge on an
