A win for Ressies at Last!
And a happy birthday for Gary too.
The Reserves travelled up to Brymbo looking for a first win since October. The home team had also struggled recently, but had a few first teamers included as their first team season has finished. We were also strengthened with Gibbo in goal, Kurtis, Arthur and Josh Price, and Tom Crewe making his first start in 2 years.
It was a lively start with both teams having chances, Brymbo missed a great opportunity on 9 minutes as the striker fired over with only Gibbo to beat. And they paid a heavy price as TOM CREWE cut inside from the left and hit a fine 30 yard effort into the top corner to give us the lead. It was still end to end on a fine pitch, and Colts were more than happy as Arthur Doo doubled the lead, played through by Harry and finishing from 15 yards into the bottom corner. HT 0-2
The lads were now buoyant, and continued in a confident mood in the second half . Brymbo did pull a goal back, but HARRY made a superb run down the right, Tom's first time strike was brilliantly blocked by the keeper, but the ball fell to JOSH PRICE, who controlled, sidestepped his marker and scored via the inside of a post to seal the game. The mood of the lads after the game was a joy to behold.
A great hardworking show, Fraser did superbly down the right together with Rhys Williams, and good to see Alli coming off the bench for a rare performance.
Well done you Lloyd, it may my birthday a very happy one, Tom dedicated his goal to me!
