ccrfc vs westbury

Westbury 7 CCRFC 34

Castle Cary went to Westbury looking forwards to their first game of the season. From the start, the Cary forwards secured good ball for the backs which resulted in pressure being exerted on the Westbury backs, who put up a stern defence. The ball was recycled to the forwards who, through good interlinking play, resulted in a try being scored by Aiden.
From the restart Cary showed their intent on playing a fast moving game with Matt collecting the ball and making at least 30 metres to reset the ball in Westbury's half, where the forwards proceeded to then ruck the ball up the pitch under the control of the Cary scrumhalf (Joe). This set the tone for the rest of the game with Cary playing good 15 man rugby.
Due to injuries, Cary lent Westbury 2 players, Matt & Toby. Westbury scored a try in the second half, Cary kept their composure and came back with another try, scoring a total of 6 with 2 conversions. The try scorers were Aiden, Myron (2), Lucio, Josh & James with 2 conversions from Connor.
The game was played in good spirit and both teams are looking forwards to the return fixture.
