History

Castleford White Rose Ladies AFC were formed on 11th March 1995,at that time known as Kippax Welfare, but became independent at the beginning of Season 96/97 changing their name to White Rose Ladies. We are now known as Castleford White Rose Ladies AFC. We have existed in Castleford for the last 10 years and feel that this cements our relationship with the town, whilst helping to identify where we play our football and particularly in light of our partnership with Castleford Rugby Union, who fully support our attempts to promote girls and ladies football.

We have had success at various age groups, over the years, with league Championships at Under 10 and Under 14 levels and numerous runners up positions. Our juniors regularly played in the very competitive and skilful Four Counties Regional League, prior to its demise, and its integration into the West Riding Girls League. Due to various reasons our own juniors suffered from this demise but, after much hard work we are now developing our young players again with teams in the West Riding Girls League, at Under 10, 11, 12, 13 & 14 and the likelihood of entering more teams, in the future. We are hoping to continue our partnerships with local primary and secondary schools. We feel this is important in attempting to build our younger age groups back to the strengths we have enjoyed in the past, whilst trying to keep girls and ladies football at the forefront of the local community.

We needed progression for our girls and formed our own Open Age side, six years ago. Within two years we had been crowned champions of the Yorkshire and Humberside League and have gone on, in recent seasons, to enjoy success in the higher standard of the North Eastern Womens Regional League with a number of girls, still connected with the club, who came through the junior ranks. We have strengthened by having another Open Age side in the West Riding Womens League also, thus providing further progression for old and new players alike.

We have, over all this time, enjoyed many victories, and continue to do so, at various football tournaments, and at all age groups. In 1999 we held our own inaugural tournament, which has now become an annual and highly successful event. Indeed it is now regarded as one of the best in Northern England attracting teams from numerous areas around the country.

The club operates an open policy, we gained charter standard in 2005, and in 2013 achieved development status of which we are extremely proud of. Everyone, irrespective of ability, or age, has always been welcome coached by coaches who hold FA qualifications. There is a firm commitment to producing young players who can go on to feed our older age groups and progress to higher levels in the womens game.

With sixteen seasons of expertise in providing Girls and Ladies football, we believe that we are in a prime position, and would, very much, like to hear from anyone who may be interested in assisting. If you are interested in helping, playing, or coaching please go to the contact or team pages, or just turn up and be involved, sample and enjoy playing football here at Castleford White Rose.
