On Saturday Crusaders Open Age take on Jarrow Vikings at Robertson Rd, kick off 2:30pm.
Last Time Out
Vikings secured a 28 - 24 victory, at home, against an ever tricky Durham Demons side. Having had a week off due to a Cup bye, they will no doubt be refreshed and focussed for Saturdays away game. Crusaders also had a bye in the Cup, but managed to catch up with a rescheduled game from Round 1 against a rebuilding Peterlee Pumas. Crusaders came away with a 78-16 win, and will hope to build on that.
Last Time We Met
The teams last met in July 2018, in the "Top Half" return fixtures. On that day Crusaders were put to the sword having only 13 players available and having to borrow some subs when bangs and bumps took there toll. Crusaders were soundly beaten 68-12. Crusaders will be hoping for an improvement on last seasons result with 24 players being available for Saturdays clash.

On Saturday Jared Poole will be within one game of receiving the Crusaders silver salva in recognition for playing 25 games for the team. We also have 4 players still in contention for Crusaders Man of Iron which is awarded to any player that plays in every league and cup game throughout a season. The award may elude serviceman Ben Smith, but veteran Don Payne and former U16's Amborosio Bani and Matthew White will all be hoping to stay fit and bag the reward at the end of the season.
