Black Swans victorious with a hard fought 3-2 win against Thatcham and Newbury Town Blue.
The Thatcham girls, renowned for their quick passing penetrating game twice gained the lead, and as ever were a difficult team contain. Notwithstanding the Caversham girls took the game to Thatcham from the outset, playing high pressing, attacking football to disrupt Thatcham.
Much of the game was end to end but Thatcham became increasingly contained in their own half as the match wore on. Caversham's pace, power, creative movement, and unshaking determination deservedly won through in the end.
Caversham's Player of the Match Lucy Abraham was pinpoint in Thatcham's box, scoring a terrific hat-trick of well struck goals. The Black Swans with this win, and three tournament wins on the bounce last summer, continue to go from strength to strength; the next challenge for the girls the Winter Futsal Tournament in Bracknell in January.
