Caversham Crusaders won the Burghfield 11s six a side on Sunday without conceding a goal in normal play.

In a first section, of five eight-minute league matches, the boys won three games and drew one of the first four matches.

Having qualified for the next round with a fourth game defeat of Hart FC Sharks, a reshuffled team played out a 0-0 draw against Caversham United's "parked bus".

In the quarterfinal, The Cru threw everything at their opponents from Basingstoke Town, but went through via a penalty shoot-out after a save from keeper George and thunderous strikes from Oskar and Soli.

In the semis, Owen's cracking placed shot sent The Cru through against old rivals Thatcham B in one of the best matches of the the run.

The Cru faced Thatcham Town A in the final and again pummeled the opponent's goal, with Harry W hitting the post. In the penalty shoot-out that followed, cool heads and great strikes from Harry L, Soli and James ensured a 3-1 win after George had tipped a shot over the bar.

Well done lads.
