The scoreline didn't do Panthers justice in a game they dominated.
Panthers remain unbeaten at home after an impressive performance against Beggarwood. The first half was all one way traffic as Caversham looked to open the scoring. The ball just wouldn't go in the back of the net with Chris Hatton and George Head both hitting the woodwork early on. The deadlock was broken however when George was set up in midfield by Liam Bowbrick and fired in shot from 30 yards on the turn - I doubt Clayfield has seen many better goals scored! It was enough to send Panthers in at the break leading by a goal to nil. The second half had Beggardwood equalizing when a cross found their striker at the back post who headed in to make it one a piece - totally against the run of play. Caversham didn't stop working however and within 15 minutes had taken the lead again when a great through ball by Liam found Alec Strickson who keeping his composure slotted past the Beggarwood keeper to put Panthers deservedly back in the lead. Neither team could add any more goals and the game finished 2-1 to Caversham. A great team effort again but Liam Bowbrick was awarded Man of the Match for his outstanding contribution in midfield.
