End to end game finishes with Panthers coming out on top
Caversham came away with a well deserved win against Oakley in a game that had plenty of chances for both teams. Panthers started brightly with a goal in the first couple of minutes from Alec Strickson but Oakley soon equalized through their pacey forward who was causing the Caversham defence problems. Zak Brown put Panthers back in the lead only for Oakley to equalize yet again. Both teams still looked to create chances, with Oakley hitting the crossbar but the first half finished 2-2.
The second half started in a repeat of the first with Caversham going into an early lead through Zak Brown only for Oakley to come back and level. As the game went on Panthers started to look the stronger team as Oakley started to flag. Thomas Nicholls, Tom Hinke, Lee Dunne and Jack Levy were holding Oakley at bay with Brad Withers and Liam Bowbrick putting in a sterling shift in midfield. It was Zak Brown who broke the deadlock to complete his hat trick, which was soon followed by his fourth after a great finish from a perfectly weighted Lee Dunne free kick. It gave Panthers the cushion they needed and Oakley couldn't respond with the game finishing 5-3 to the away team.
Great team performance yet again. Jack Levy was outstanding. 4 goals for Zak. Great midfield work from Lee, Liam and man of the match Brad Withers.
