CB Hounslow United Elite U18s Vs Wembley

County Cup – Wednesday 25th November 2015

Tonight’s game has come after a few weeks of games being cancelled along with training due to weather, with this & in-conjunction with our tough opponents tonight in Wembley the boys understood that this was going to ask questions of us individually & as a team….

Starting the game with the Wembley players huddled together, just before KO with their saying ringing in our ears: “what are we, WINNERS; what are we WINNERS” repeatedly!!!….Sorry Wembley, not tonight; tonight, CB Hounslow United 18s earned the right to call themselves WINNERS!
Wembley started very strong showing their intentions to dominate & press our players quickly, in spells, you could see that Wembley could score at any time due to the technical ability of their players & the decent efforts to play forwards & direct. Unfortunately for them, Our CB players worked harder & showed how well our principles of play are working (Desire, Moving the Ball quickly & playing forwards “when we could). With that, we had most of the possession, although, some decision making by our boys was not as quick as I would have liked, generally, the boys worked for each other offering support & options across the park which made it very difficult for Wembley to play & take control of the game. With corner after corner not being converted & other opportunities just quite not being taken, it took for a Harvey Lal’s Corner to score directly; a sweet in-swinger fell straight into the bottom right hand corner of the Goal 1-0 (an assist By head Coach Alfie Chapman) … and that was how the first half finished.
Second Half:
CB Players Started better, brighter & with high confidence,; Wembley had a few half chances purely down to some sloppy passing at the back, however, this was minimal from our boys, that along with our striker Antwayne not converting on a couple of occasions, it took for Midfielder Levi to take on several players driving across the box from the right-hand side towards the goal only to be taken down in the box….. Penalty…..!!!
Levi Stepped up & smashed the ball to the left of the keeper sending him the wrong way, 2-0 CB Hounslow United “#Lovethat” ..a superb finish from Levi who, as always, gave his all to the team creating & defending extremely well. I would love to praise everyone individually in this report, however, they all know how much time & respect I have for them & the consistency they give me every Game (Thank you)….also, the players all know they couldn’t do what they are doing weekly without each other as a TEAM.
The game finished CB Hounslow 2 Wembley 0 - a great result from a superb bunch of players
Harvey Lal was our Man Of the Match today, his passing, his ball retention & his hard work out of possession was first class, this has been consistent for so many games now, it’s great to see his reward in a First team call up, finally signed up to Combined Counties Football.
Summary: CB Hounslow United U18s Elite players are A TEAM which I love working with, they are all such good lads who play well for each other & fly the flag HIGH for CB Hounslow United .
Well Done Boys, thank you for all your hard work, You are all developing well proven in that 5 – 6 players are now in & around the First / Reserve team now, we are doing something right
