Defensive reinforcement imminent

4 years ago, By Cemaes Bay

Cemaes Bay are on the verge of signing Steven Hughes from Llanerchymedd

With the recent loss of Barri Roberts from the Bay backline, Dei and Bumph have acted swiftly in finding a replacement, with former Amlwch and Cemaes defender Steven Hughes on the verge of completing his switch from league rivals Llanerchymedd.

Steven Hughes is a tough tackling centre half, who is dominant in the air, well composed on the ball and offers a big threat in opposition boxes.

Hughes played for Cemaes during the 2009/10 season under former manager Darren Hughes before leaving at the end of the season to join Amlwch Town, only to have a last minute change of heart during pre season and opting for a transfer to Llanerchymedd.

But after just one season with Llan, Hughes has agreed to rejoin the Reds Revolution with the prospect of playing for Humphreys and Roberts a key factor in his decision to move.

Should the trsansfer be completed before the 5pm deadline on Friday, Steven will go straight into contention for this weekends squad.
