A huge thank you to Sarah Wood of the Oxfordshire FA who came along to support the new girls football training sessions in Chalgrove. She was very positive in her feedback!
“What a marvellous job you (Chris & Kerry) have both done so far, getting so many girls to attend training in such a short space of time! They all appeared to absolutely love the session and had great enthusiasm for football and learning.”
Sixteen girls from years 3-6 have commenced training on Thursday evenings between 4pm and 5pm.
The sessions aim to encourage fun, teamwork and knowledge and enjoyment of the game. It’s great to provide local girls with a social, sporting activity in the village.
Amazingly, it all began with one of the players, then aged 10, who initially expressed an interest in beginning girls football locally. She persisted with this dream and with that determination the adults involved stepped up to this project.
New players and volunteers are always welcomed. Absolutely no experience or knowledge necessary!
And how about this for a lovely comment on Kerry from the Oxon FA's Sarah Wood, "I must say that you have a great manner and attitude when working with the girls, and hearing from the parents and club members from the side line yesterday – you have a natural talent! It’s great from my point of view to see more female role models in the game…may it continue!"
