The return fixture against Hull Uni. 3 was a much harder game - the students finding some form & decent play, after the disorganised team we faced earlier in the season.
With no transport, most of the students had to get the train to Meadowhell, & endure the long up-hill slog on foot to H.H. However, it didn't seem to take any pace out of their legs as they started brightly.
In a nip & tuck game, Chap eventually took the lead from a looping shot from "Twice now Thrice a Season" Maleham, following some good interchange at a short corner. However, the students got the equaliser before half time.
Worse was to follow in the second half, when the returning "Darra O'Berney Metcalf thought he was still playing football, & flung out a leg to concede a flick. 2 - 1 to the visitors!
There was still 20 minutes to play & Chap. started to apply some pressure. Some "fiesty" tackling saw green cards for Headless & Dave Addenbrooke, before "Thrice a Season" slammed home the equaliser. With victory in sight, Chap. piled forward & Burgs (minus his mask), weaved his way through the visitors defence to score a deserved winner.
A late flurry of shorts from the students were successfully defended, with Chap relieved to hear the final whistle.
MOTM; Burgs, for a fine display & crucial goal.
DOTD; Headless - I wasn't the only one to get a card!
