Chard won the toss and elected to bat first on a damp pitch which pleased the Taunton Deane Captain no end.
Danny Grabham and Sam Reynolds opened with both being aggressive against the two opening bowlers in an extremely well played 71 partnership from 13 overs before Sam retired on reaching 30 great runs.
Danny was then bowled in the same over for a really good 24 before Nathan Johnson, Niall Crouch and Bobby Lord combined to reach 98 runs at the end of 20 overs - Nathan finished on 14 not out while Bobby reached 9 not out.
Taunton Deane did not have the best of starts losing 2 wickets in the first 3 overs before T Harlow and H Smith took control reaching 73 at the 10 over point.
T Harlow then retired on 32 while H Smith was run out in the very next over for 26 good runs.
This left Taunton Deane needing 29 from 9 overs - S Holmes was caught for 12 with a great boundary catch by Mark Bulgin - which started a batting collapse resulting in the last pair being at the wicket with just 2 runs needed from 3 overs.
Fraser Lewis bowled the 18th over and started with a wide - but good tight bowling put pressure on the batsmen who took a silly run resulting in a run out making the result a tie !!!
A really exciting game played in good spirit and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone3 present.
