Chard Ladies 1st XI took to the astro once more to commence the 2014/15 season and they certainly started off with a bang. Nine bangs in fact as the sound of the ball hitting the backboard of the goal echoed what Chard hoped to be the start of a very successful season after being promoted to Sedgemoor Division 1.

The Chard side started out with confidence with new coach Hugo Santos on the sideline. Despite positions chopping and changing quite regularly and a few fresh faces Chard worked well as a team and made some lovely plays down the pitch. Goals came from Amy Goss, Claire Baker, Hannah Billing and Rachel Ireland-Jones. With six of the nine goals coming from Rachel it is no wonder she was voted woman-of-the-match at the end of the game.
