Swain fires Chard to win

Hornets visited Chard sitting at the foot of the table but normally have a good spirt around their team that as chard futures the youth along with their more mature players. Chard started briskly and were pushing forward through the first part of the half creating some opportunities but resolute tackling by the visitors meant Chard did not manage to shoot. As there half progressed the home side found more space in the mid-field and both Tom Float and Alfie Crump had chances to score, however to was from a penalty corner that Andy Swain hammered the ball into the net. The goal woke the visitors up and they had the best of the remaining half with the forwards finding a way to create some chances that were well dealt wit by Grahame Johnson in goal. The second half overall was a scrappy affair with neither side taking command as close stick control evaded both teams. The best of the chances fell to Chard who had James Float create a couple of shots that the goalkeeper dealt with well, the impressive Alfie Crump made a nuisance of himself and opened up space that Chard could not capitilise.
