Assistant Manager discusses today's 2-1 defeat to Newcastle Town.

Assistant Manager Cameron Stuart gives his thoughts after this afternoons 2-1 defeat at home to Newcastle Town.

ON CONCEDING LATE GOAL

"We are all gutted, especially in the manor that we lost again.

"I'm not using the referee as an excuse, but losing the game to a 92nd minute penalty which never was one in my opinion is very hard to take.

"The lads were outstanding second half and deserved a point at least."

ON SLATER SENDING OFF

"Losing Slater so early in the Second half to a red card seemed to galvanise the lads.

"Again another poor decision by the ref to give Slates a yellow card for a coming together.

"With 10 men I thought we looked the more likely to score and and the lads worked their socks off to get back into the game.

"We couldn't have asked more from them."

ON JOE THOMAS

"Joe was excellent Tuesday and again today, he gets into little pockets and looks to drive at people and commit defenders.

"It was good to see him score again as well."

ON ROONEY ASSIST AND INJURY

"Rooney was excellent when he came on, his pass for the goal was superb, unfortunately we look like we will lose him for a week or so with a hamstring injury."
