"CHASETOWN FOOTBALL CLUB have this evening announced that following today’s defeat at Coalville Town, first team manager CRAIG HARRIS has subsequently been relieved of his duties.

The former player was captain during their historic FA Cup run of 2005-06, where they were defeated in a 1st round replay by League One outfit Oldham Athletic.

Craig took charge of first team affairs following the club’s disappointing relegation from the Evo-Stik Northern Premier Division at the end of the 2011-12 season.

In his first season as manager (2012-13), Craig steered the club to the Evo-Stik Division One South Play-Off Final, only to lose by the odd goal in three at Stamford AFC.

A mid-table finish of 12th in 2013-14 was somewhat offset by the defeat of Rushall in Mid-May to capture the Walsall Senior Cup for the fourth time.

However results this season post September have been poor, including a run of just two victories in the last seventeen league fixtures; this has ultimately led to Craig’s tenure as manager coming to an end.

The management committee at the club would like to place on record their sincere thanks to Craig for all his hard work and commitment, and would like to wish him all the best for the future.

However, the club feel that a change of manager & direction is necessary at this time, as they search to position themselves for a promotion challenge once again.

The club will look to appoint a new manager as soon as possible."
