Stringer ‘Banks’ on Robbie to help out Scholars

Boss already putting plans inplace ahead of next season.

Chasetown can confirm that former Coventry Sphinx manager Robbie Banks has agreed to join the club as player-coach.

Banks played under Dave Stringer when he was manager at Rugby Town and was an influential figure captaining the side to a couple of play-off finishes.

The midfield maestro picked up three Player of the Season awards with his outstanding performances meaning he was very much a crowd favourite at Butlin Road.

During his time at the club, Banks did suffer a horrific double lower leg break in February 2013, however bounced back to fitness in October 2014.

He left Rugby last year before taking up the reins of player-manager at Midland Football League Premier Division outfit Coventry Sphinx helping them successively to avoid the drop.
