Chasetown dented Rushden’s play off bid with a goal in each half.
Chasetown took the lead after 13 minutes. Josh Ruff drilled the ball into the penalty area and Ryan Wynter cleverly back heeled past Matt Finlay - Chasetown's 400th goal in the Evo-Stik Division 1 South.
Rushden equalised at the start of the second half after Leon Miles was penalised for handball and Nabil Shariff sent Curtis Pond the wrong way from the penalty spot.
Chasetown regained the lead fifteen minutes from the end. Leading goalscorer Jack Langston advanced from midfield and drilled his 22nd goal of the season right along the ground.
Rushden pushed for an equaliser and Ben Ford was a whisker wide of Pond’s right hand post.
