The City of Chattanooga and the Parks & Recreation Department have finished work on Field 1 at Montague Park. With the field graded, irrigation system installed, and the top soil dropped the only thing remaining was the sod to be installed. This past week, the sod was finally laid down. While the field work is now complete it will not be ready for action until late in the spring of 2012. Remaining work to get finish all requirements on field 1 will be to install goal posts, lighting, and fencing.
Work will now start on field 2, with the grading and top soil slated to be done within the next couple months.
Montague Park, the future home of the Nooga Rugby Club, has been dormant for years and with significant help from CRFC Old Boy Steve Lofty and several local engineering firms......is now being brought back to life. The final design of the complex will include 3 rugby pitches, a large multi-use clubhouse, and a huge walking path surrounded by large scale art work created by local Nooga artists.
