This was made possible by a successful recruiting campaign including two billboards, a sport talk interview on 102.3FM, an article in the Chattanooga Chatter, an article in the Chattanooga Times Free Press and word of mouth. We are glad they came out and look forward to growing the club with them!
Due to unpredictable January weather, our first week of practice was scheduled to be indoors at D1. It was a good opportunity to teach and review the basics of rugby. Not to mention being able to get some contact after the winter break! Even if it was only against pads!
Our next week took us outdoors to our regular practice pitch. We were able to open up our game plan and begin to introduce the new players to their respective positions in the backs and forwards. The forwards looked strong and there were more backs than almost ever before!
The next practice was an indoors review and planning session for our preseason tour to Savannah (more info. on this to follow!). Right now the team feels excited and we will continue to train hard for our next matrix match against Knoxville on February 18th at our home pitch in Rossville, GA. See you there!
