Chelmsford RFC U7's
Are we ready for another fantastic season...do you want to be part of it !
Tag Rugby is a fun, but competitive, non contact sport aimed at children under the age of 9.
It's designed to develop the basic skills and an understanding of the rules of the senior game.
The under 7 age group is open to all children who are in school year 2.
Training is due to resume on 1st September, but watch this space for confirmation.
Training for the under 7’s aims to be a fun and inclusive experience which helps to develop core tag rugby. To augment these skills, and build teamwork, the under 7s will also be playing a number of matches and festivals (see fixture list below). Training is taken by volunteer parents who are CRB checked, with experience in tag rugby training and first aid skills. The training is constantly reviewed and planned. The focus is on fun and inclusion for all.
Training is at Coronation Park and starts at 09:30am (09:15 meet) every Sunday, it lasts for 1 1/2 hours and is situated at the far end of the 1st XV pitch. Parents/carers are requested to remain at the session with their children. The first three sessions are free so you can ensure that tag rugby is right for your child, and then you will be required to join Chelmsford Rugby Club. Players will also need to be RFU registered to play in matches, and so it is advisable to have all the registration documents completed as early as possible. If you require forms you can contact us in advance, rather than wait until training starts.
Players should wear sensible sports clothing, and either boots or trainers depending on ground condition. A wet weather top, a hat and gloves are also advisable. An appropriate drink in a sports bottle should also be brought for drinks breaks.
The official Chelmsford rugby kit can be purchased from Fenton Sports. For details see www.fentonsports.com.
All other training equipment is provided.
Our main method of communication is by email - please ensure you have provided us with an email address you have regular access to.
