It is with great pleasure that the club welcomes back Adam Capper (30) for the forthcoming season.

Adam has an excellent Rugby pedigree having had previous stints with Barking RFC and Brentwood RFC in London 1. The Utility Front Row player started his rugby career with Chelmsford as a keen mini player, but moved on to Colchester RFC when the club did not have an age group for him to play in. Adam has represented England U16's, Saracens academy and Bedford Blues U21's. Unfortunately for Adam an injury scuppered his chances at the full time professional level and moved on to set up his own Rugby coaching company and to play at a decent level more locally.

With a few other clubs looking to secure Adam's services, when asked what convinced him to return to the club Adam said of this decision "I believe Chelmsford can achieve great things in the years to come. The club and coaches have a real passion to succeed at higher levels and I cant wait to get out on the pitch" He added "Kevin the DOR has set out clear goals for the senior teams and I'm excited to be part of the club once again".

Kevin Blackmore said of Adam's commitment to the club "This is great news for Chelmsford Rugby Club, Adam has some very good Rugby experience and at 30 has plenty of good years in him yet" He added "I hope this shows our intent as a club, that in spite of some players deciding to move on, that we are very much open for business and this shouldn't be the last good news on player recruitment this summer" "We already have a strong squad more than capable of doing well in LNE3, but with reinforcements such as Adam this will only help strengthen the group".
