The Blueboys just need to find that try scoring habit. We need to stay positive things will change soon . Jack Acorn (pictured) scored this week

Chelmsford travelled to play their old rivals Ipswich on Saturday in front of a good size crowd with a fair number of away supporters. Playing against the wind, Chelmsford had the game plan of keeping the ball tight and driving through the forwards up the middle of the pitch. This they succeeded with for the first twenty minutes, ball retention was good and pressure was applied. They did, however, lose both Cook in the backrow and Woodward at scrum half through injury during that time.
During the second twenty minutes of the first half Chelmsford side did concede three tries; The first from a scrum when the Ipswich scrum half sniped in under the posts without a hand being put on him, second try from the ball being passed on our on line and it being dropped. And the final try of the half was scored after a lineout and first up tackles were missed. Half time Ipswich 21 Chelmsford 0
The second half should have been about kicking deep using the wind and letting the forwards drive in from close in. Unfortunately, Chelmsford never got their kicks deep enough and hence consistent pressure was never gained. Again Chelmsford contributed to the scoring of Ipswich’s next try when after fifteen minutes, Chelmsford knocked on in their 22 meter and the ball was run wide for the centre to score. Two further tries ensued during the half for Ipswich, but as regard territory, Chelmsford spent more time in the oppositions half, but without any cutting edge. Chelmsford’s forwards were dominant in the set scrums and drove well in the mauls but ball retention was always a problem.
Chelmsford did not let their heads go down at any stage and Jack Acorn eventually got the ball with a little space to sprint in at the corner for a consolatory try.
Again, with further injuries to the Chelmsford side a settled team is proving very difficult to achieve. Saturday did see the return of Phil Stockton who kicked well and provided a steadying influence. Chelmsford do need to see the return of many of their influential players
Next Saturday will see the visit of Wansted to Coronation Park k.o. 2.15
