Hertford visited Chelmsford for the annual opening game of the season and what a cracking day was had by all. Hertford fielded 4 teams, Chelmsford 3, we managed to get 12 mini matches played in total, so all got some valuable game time.

Chelmsford won 4, drew 3 and lost 5.

Reasonably even, some good rugby was played by all teams, newcomers got their first taste of match rugby and confident players were stretched. What more could you ask for?

A special mention to the coaching staff at Hertford, who helped with the organisation and occaisional refereeing, the parents of both sides who encouraged and supported in a manner which was a credit to their clubs and finally the players who all put on a good display of rugby, they are learning!
