The defensive back four and the Centre Half are used in different forms of the game to maintain possession and switch the ball around to create gaps whilst the opposition are still adjusting. Whilst the defence stretch the opposition across the width of the pitch, the forwards push higher taking their opposition with them and creating a whole load of space in midfield.
