Former Gladiators duo impress with Crusaders

Former Gladiators duo impress with Crusaders image

Rob Massam and Sam Broadbent have been in impressive form since joining North Wales Crusaders.

Both players were snapped up by the Co-operative Championship One side after catching the eye of coach Clive Griffiths during open trials.

Rob played for the Gladiators from 2009 through to 2011 while Sam was with the club in 2009 and 2011.

During their time with the Gladiators both Rob and Sam represented the England Lionhearts.

They have featured in all three of the Crusaders pre-season matches so far and have been among the club's top performers.

The Crusaders have beaten Leigh East 34-12, Rochdale Hornets 50-22 and Halifax U23s 62-0.

Rob has scored a try in every game and currently has five tries from just three appearances.

Sam scored his first try for the club during the win against Halifax on Sunday.

Chester Gladiators are extremely proud of Rob and Sam's progress and it is fantastic to see two of our former players making a name for themselves in the professional game.
