Kids can come and try rugby league with sessions running through October, November and December.

Chester Gladiators are encouraging children and parents to get into rugby league with a winter coaching programme.

After a successful summer, the club has taken on board feedback from parents and will be running weekly coaching sessions for boys and girls aged between four and 11.

Sessions will take place between 6pm and 7pm every Monday on the floodlit astroturf at Upton-by-Chester High School, St James Avenue CH2 1NN. Free parking is available.

The first session will be held on October 6 and the final session before the Christmas break will be on December 15.

Each session costs £2 per child and newcomers are very welcome to come along.

Qualified coaches will provide boys and girls with a fun and safe introduction to rugby league, a fast and exciting team sport.

Next season the club plans to launch a number of new junior teams and any parents interested in getting their children into rugby league are encouraged to get in touch.

Playing rugby league has many benefits including keeping fit, making new friends and maybe even progressing to a higher level.

We are proud that a number of our players have progressed to Warrington Wolves, Widnes Vikings, North Wales Crusaders and even international rugby league.

No previous rugby league experience is needed and all training sessions are led by fully-qualified coaches.
